A Bleak Winter Walk

After many a mulled wine in Vienna’s Christmas markets, family gatherings, copious meals, Christmas festivities, a somewhat chaotic New Year’s Eve and a week well spent outside of the city with a few nice hikes and a relaxing spa day, the holidays have come to an end and so has my tolerance for winter.

A long walk in the woods in Lower Austria, not far from the town I grew up in, although very pleasant, confirmed that feeling. With little snow left and lots of fog, the already not so compelling view from Michelberg hill was even bleaker, if not non-existent.

Nevertheless, days like these seem to call for a few atmospheric landscape shots.
