What started out as an honest attempt to properly sort out and organise my pictures led to a messy collection of photos taken in my current and previous flats. Some images are loaded with personal memories and emotions, others I took purely for aesthetical reasons. All shots in this series have been taken spontaneously, while the final presentation is often staged. In this melting pot of digital and analogue, colour and monochrome, heavy editing or none at all, composites and single images, I reconstruct my idea of home image by image, piece by piece, like a dreamy, psychedelic puzzle. Pieces of Home is my attempt to restore meaning to pictures that were taken with no specific intention at the time, but ultimately carry a special, personal significance. What guides this project most of all is spontaneity, awareness and openness to the beauty that can unfold in the confines of your own four walls, and visual associations that make seemingly unrelated frames connect with each other.
